(image: http://home.wanadoo.nl/bstekhuizen/bitlocker.PNG ) and here is a image of my partitions (http://home.wanadoo.nl/bstekhuizen/patitions.PNG ) Partition C: is my windows partition and E: is my windows xp partition and D: is a empty partition and the one with no name is the dell utility and media direct partion

the second url is wrong here is the correct url: http://home.wanadoo.nl/bstekhuizen/partitions.PNG

Hi JoostB, Thanks for the image, this is very useful. The problem is that the boot partition (the one containing the OS) is the same as the system partition (the active partition containing BOOTMGR). For BitLocker to work, the parition saying "system" must be different to the partition saying "boot". Sorry that this will require reconfiguration of the system, we are working on a tool to simplify the process.
PS. Most BitLocker topics may be better kept in the "security" help group.

I want to use bitlocker and i get this error message (image http://home.wanadoo.nl/bstekhuizen/bitlocker.PNG ) but i don't now what it is. I have all done what was needed. This are my partitions (image http://home.wanadoo.nl/bstekhuizen/partitions.PNG ) C: is my windows vista partition D: is a empty partition E: is my windows xp partition and the partition with no drive letter is the dell utlility partition

Let's pretend you have a partition set up for just the swap/pagefile and Temp Internet files- are those files encrypted also? How about if those same files are stored on another drive?
Thanks.

As the partition would map to another volume, the simple answer is no, they would not. Encryption can be turned on individually for PageFiles via policy (I don't have the details at hand). To take advantage of BitLocker, you would keep all these files on the OS volume for this initial version. - Jamie Hunter [MS]
